Ghislaine Maxwell pleads the Fifth before House panel

Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s former confidant, invoked the Fifth Amendment when testifying remotely before a congressional committee on Monday.

Lawmakers had hoped she would answer key questions about Epstein’s crimes and the identities of powerful men involved, as well as her prison transfer.

The House Oversight Committee plans upcoming depositions from figures including Les Wexner, Hillary and Bill Clinton, and Epstein’s accountant and attorney.

Congress will also review over 3 million pages of unredacted Epstein-related documents, including emails with billionaires and claims about Donald Trump, News Nation has reported.

Democrats have criticized the Justice Department for redactions and alleged mishandling, while the department maintains it acted in good faith.
