The FBI released images and videos of a masked, armed person in the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of news anchor Savannah Guthrie, who disappeared from her Tucson home on January 31.
The footage shows the individual tampering with the home’s doorbell camera, covering it with vegetation, and moving around the front porch.
Savannah Guthrie and authorities believe her mother is still alive, and the FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information.
Blood matching Nancy Guthrie was found on her porch, and law enforcement is investigating ransom notes demanding Bitcoin, one of which led to a hoax arrest, the BBC has reported.
The new breakthrough came after officials recovered previously inaccessible footage from the home’s Nest doorbell, which had been disconnected around the time of her disappearance.
