A Russian drone strike destroyed a home in Bohodukhiv, northeastern Ukraine, killing a father and his three young children and seriously injuring their 35-week pregnant mother.

Rescue workers pulled the mother from the rubble, but she sustained severe injuries, including burns, a traumatic brain injury, and hearing loss.

The strike involved a Geran-2 drone, and local officials announced three days of mourning for the victims.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy condemned the attack, calling for stronger air defenses and international pressure on Russia, while noting ongoing efforts to counter aerial attacks, NBC News has reported.

The incident comes amid a surge in drone attacks, with Russia launching 129 long-range drones overnight and a Ukrainian strike hitting an industrial plant in Volgograd.
