SpaceX’s Crew-12 mission docked with the International Space Station (ISS) on Valentine’s Day after a 34-hour journey, bringing four new astronauts aboard the short-staffed station.
The crew includes NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA’s Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, with Hathaway and Adenot on their first spaceflight.
They join three existing ISS crew members—NASA’s Chris Williams and cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev—who have been aboard since mid-January.
Crew-12 will live and work on the station until October, slightly longer than the typical six-month rotation, Space.com has reported.
The arrival restores the ISS to a full complement after Crew-11 departed a month early due to a medical issue, marking the first medical evacuation in the station’s history.
