Chris Nanos has reportedly “locked down” the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, limiting key decisions to himself, Chief Jesus Lopez and Captain Juan Carlos Navarro, amid tensions with the FBI.

Law enforcement sources told the Daily Mail that detectives are not steering the case and alleged that Nanos is withholding evidence from federal authorities, claims he has publicly denied.

Critics, including former Chief Deputy Richard Kastigar Jr., argue the case should have been handed to the FBI, especially as it may have international dimensions.

The investigation, now in its third week, has generated tens of thousands of tips but no arrests, with a key piece of evidence—a black glove—failing to yield a DNA match, the Daily Mail has reported.

A reward totaling $202,500 is being offered as more than 400 officers continue searching for answers in the high-profile alleged abduction.
