Court filings show a history of safety concerns at a Pierce County home where five people died Tuesday.
Deputies responded around 8:45 a.m. to a report of a man violating a protection order, and the first deputy arriving on the scene shot and killed the 32-year-old suspect, who was actively stabbing someone.
Four adults had already been killed by the suspect before police arrived.
Records reveal that last year, a woman at the home had obtained a protective order against a man, citing threats, abusive behavior, and alleged occult rituals in the house, KOMO News has reported.
The deputy who responded was alone in his district, and the Pierce County Force Investigation Team is now leading the investigation.
