Lebanon’s Hezbollah claimed responsibility for firing rockets at northern Israel for the first time since the November 2024 ceasefire.

The group said the attack was revenge for the killing of Ali Khamenei during the U.S.-Israeli bombing campaign on Iran.

Hezbollah said it targeted a missile defense site south of Haifa, while the Israel Defense Forces reported that one rocket was intercepted and others landed in open areas without causing injuries or damage.

The group described the attack as a warning for Israel to withdraw from disputed border positions it still holds in Lebanon, the Times of Israel has reported.

Lebanon’s government, which has sought to limit Hezbollah’s influence, said it would not allow the country to be drawn into a wider regional war.
