Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has died, according to Iranian state media, which said he was killed as a “martyr.”

The reports were published by IRNA and Fars News Agency on Sunday.

Earlier, Donald Trump claimed on Truth Social that Khamenei was dead following extensive strikes by United States and Israel on Iran.

The Israeli military said the attacks targeted leadership sites and killed senior officials, including the defence minister and the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, DPA International has reported.

According to the Red Crescent, more than 200 people were killed, prompting retaliatory strikes against Israel and US forces in the Middle East.
