Thousands of Kurdish fighters launch ground offensive into Iran against regime, official says

An official from the Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan claimed that Kurdish fighters from the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) have begun military operations inside Iran, taking positions near Mariwan and in the Zagros Mountains.

The official said Iranian forces withdrew from parts of the border area and that thousands of PJAK fighters, including units such as the YRK and HPJ, are now deployed.

He added that other Kurdish groups — including the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran and Komala factions — are prepared to cooperate with the United States and Israel against Tehran.

Media reports suggest U.S. agencies may be exploring support for Kurdish forces, and Donald Trump reportedly discussed the conflict with Kurdish leaders in Iraq, though no official confirmation has been issued, i24 News has reported.

The claims of a Kurdish offensive and potential foreign backing remain unverified, and neither Washington nor Israel has publicly confirmed plans to arm Kurdish groups inside Iran.
