Pennsylvania State Police trooper shot, killed in West Caln Township

Pennsylvania State Police Cpl. Timothy O’Connor was fatally shot Sunday night in West Caln Township while responding to a call about an erratic driver.

O’Connor pulled over the driver, who then shot him before dying by suicide.

Gov. Josh Shapiro and Pennsylvania State Police officials described O’Connor as a hero who died protecting others.

O’Connor, who joined the state police in 2010, leaves behind a wife and young daughter, CBS News has reported.

The Chester County District Attorney’s Office and state police are investigating the incident, and many details about the motive remain unknown.
