A series of tornadoes swept across multiple U.S. states from Texas to Michigan, killing at least two people and causing extensive damage.
In Lake Village, Indiana, two deaths were confirmed, and officials reported widespread destruction of homes.
A powerful tornado also struck Kankakee County, Illinois, leveling blocks of buildings, downing trees and power lines, and overwhelming emergency services.
The storm brought softball-sized hail, possibly the largest ever recorded in the state, while rescue teams went door to door searching for survivors, CBS News has reported.
Tornado watches remained in effect for parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, following deadly storms in Michigan and Oklahoma last week.
