The United States Senate passed a bipartisan housing bill 89–10 aimed at making homes more affordable and accessible across the U.S.
The legislation, led by Elizabeth Warren and Tim Scott, seeks to reduce regulations, expand funding for affordable housing, and limit large corporate investors from buying single-family homes.
It would also give local governments more control over housing policies and make it easier to build affordable and modular homes.
The bill now returns to the United States House of Representatives, where leaders may push for negotiations before approving a final version, The Hill has reported.
Its future could also depend on whether Donald Trump agrees to sign it, as he has linked support to separate voting legislation.
