Fire near Dubai airport under control after drone attack, flights suspended

A drone attack near Dubai International Airport caused a fire in a fuel tank on Monday, temporarily halting flights, though no injuries were reported.

The incident is linked to the ongoing U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran, which has disrupted aviation across the Middle East as many countries close their airspace.

Roads and tunnels around the airport were briefly shut down, and some flights were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport.

This marks the third incident affecting the Dubai airport since Iran began attacks on Gulf nations on February 28, Reuters has reported.

Gulf countries have experienced more than 2,000 missile and drone strikes targeting military sites, infrastructure, and civilian facilities.
