NASA’s Artemis II rocket and Orion spacecraft are set to roll out to Launch Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center on Thursday, aiming for a launch as soon as April 1.
The rollout was moved up after an electrical harness issue in the rocket’s flight termination system was resolved sooner than expected.
Artemis II will be the first crewed mission of the Artemis program, sending four astronauts on a roughly 10-day journey around the Moon, farther than humans have ever traveled.
Crews will still need to complete extensive pad operations, system checks, and tests before confirming the launch date, WFTV 9 has reported.
NASA plans to announce a target launch date once all procedures are completed, with multiple opportunities available through April 6 if delays occur.
