Israel carried out its first-ever strike in the Caspian Sea, reportedly hitting multiple Iranian naval vessels near the port city of Bandar Anzali.
The attack marks a major expansion of Israel’s military campaign against Iran, targeting an area about 1,300 km from Israel.
Israeli officials said the strikes were part of “Operation Roaring Lion,” signaling further escalation in the conflict.
The targeted site is believed to host Iran’s Northern Fleet headquarters, making it strategically significant, Ynet News has reported.
The strike adds to mounting regional tensions, following prior clashes involving Iran, the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine in and around the Caspian region.
