A Thai man was arrested after entering the enclosure of Moo Deng, a popular pygmy hippo at Khao Kheow Open Zoo.

Security footage showed him briefly inside the enclosure, apparently filming Moo Deng and her mother, Jona.

Zoo staff quickly intervened, and the man was later charged with trespassing before being released on bail.

Moo Deng, who became a viral sensation after her birth in 2024, was unharmed, though both animals appeared slightly startled, NBC News has reported.

The zoo emphasized visitor safety rules and plans to pursue further legal action.
