Another woman tied to US scientific secrets vanishes

The disappearance of Melissa Casias, an employee at Los Alamos National Laboratory, has been linked by some observers to several other unexplained deaths and disappearances of scientists and defense figures in the U.S. since mid-2025.

These include Monica Reza and retired general William Neil McCasland, all of whom had ties to advanced aerospace or national security work.

Additional cases cited in the report involve researchers such as astrophysicist Carl Grillmair, nuclear fusion researcher Nuno Loureiro in Brookline, and pharmaceutical scientist Jason Thomas found in Wakefield.

Former FBI official Chris Swecker has urged authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to investigate possible connections rather than treat the cases individually, the Daily Mail has reported.

While some speculate about links or patterns, officials have not confirmed any unified cause, and several cases remain unsolved or independently investigated.
