Charges filed against suspect in 1990 ‘Lovers’ Lane’ cold case murders

A suspect identified as Floyd William Parrott has been charged in the 1990 “Lovers’ Lane” murders of Cheryl Henry and Andy Atkinson in Houston.

The victims were found stabbed to death in a parked car, with Henry also sexually assaulted, and the case remained unsolved for decades despite extensive investigations.

Parrott was arrested in Nebraska and is awaiting extradition to Texas to face capital murder charges.

Authorities say recent investigative efforts by local law enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation helped link him to the crime, NBC News has reported.

Officials described the breakthrough as a long-awaited step forward for a case that had remained one of the city’s most notorious cold cases.
