Tropical Cyclone Narelle has followed an unusual path around Australia, making four separate landfalls over 10 days.
It first struck Cape York Peninsula as a powerful Category 4 storm, rivaling the intensity of Cyclone Yasi.
The storm then moved across the Northern Territory and Kimberley region before its fourth landfall in Western Australia as a Category 3-equivalent system.
Such a track is extremely rare, with only a few storms like Tropical Cyclone Steve showing similar multi-landfall behavior, Accuweather has reported.
Experts say its path most closely resembles Cyclone Bianca.
