A federal judge dismissed all remaining charges against former Louisville police officers Joshua Jaynes and Kyle Meany, who were accused of providing false information for a no-knock warrant tied to the 2020 raid that led to the death of Breonna Taylor.
U.S. District Judge Charles Simpson ordered the case dismissed with prejudice, preventing prosecutors from refiling the same charges.
Federal prosecutors had requested the dismissal “in the interest of justice” shortly before the ruling.
Both officers had been accused of mishandling information used to obtain the warrant, though they were not present during the fatal raid, USA Today has reported.
Their attorneys said they were relieved by the decision, while the case itself had been ongoing since federal charges were brought in 2022.
