Two UN peacekeepers were killed and two wounded in southern Lebanon when an explosion destroyed their vehicle, marking the second deadly incident involving UN personnel in 24 hours.

The deaths occurred amid ongoing fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, with additional strikes killing a Lebanese soldier and several Hezbollah members.

The conflict escalated after Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel, prompting widespread Israeli airstrikes and a ground offensive.

More than 1,200 people have reportedly been killed in Lebanon since the fighting began, Times of Israel has reported.

The UN and several countries have condemned the incidents, and investigations are underway to determine responsibility.
