Federal officials have labeled the March 12 Michigan synagogue attack as an act of terrorism inspired by Hezbollah.
The attacker, Ayman Ghazali, a Lebanese-born U.S. citizen, rammed an explosive-laden truck into Temple Israel and died after exchanging gunfire with security guards.
Investigators say he intended the attack as support for Hezbollah and had expressed extremist views in videos and online activity.
Authorities reported he targeted the Jewish community and had been influenced by online propaganda and personal motivations linked to recent events involving his family, CBS News has reported.
The synagogue suffered significant damage, though no congregants were killed, and officials have increased security at Jewish sites in response.
