FBI agents who investigated Trump file lawsuit alleging retaliatory firing

Three former Federal Bureau of Investigation agents — Michelle Ball, Jamie Garman, and Blaire Toleman — have filed a class-action lawsuit alleging they were wrongfully fired in retaliation for their work.

They claim their dismissals were linked to their involvement in an investigation into efforts by Donald Trump to remain in power after the 2020 election.

The agents argue that their removal reflects political interference and violates the expectation that FBI personnel remain nonpartisan.

Their termination letters, signed by FBI Director Kash Patel, allegedly accused them of “weaponizing” their roles, Al-Jazeera has reported.

The lawsuit also ties their work to investigations led by special counsel Jack Smith and could open the door for similar challenges by other former agents.
