Hawaii doctor’s son tells jurors dad confessed cliffside attack on wife, vowed to jump before arrest

A Hawaii jury heard testimony from Emile Konig that his father, Gerhardt Konig, appeared on FaceTime with blood on his shirt and admitted he had just tried to kill his wife before saying he intended to jump off a cliff.

Prosecutors say this account supports their case in the alleged attack on Arielle Konig near the Pali Puka Trail in March 2025.

Emile testified that his father also mentioned alleged infidelity and warned he would not return before police arrived.

The court also heard evidence of digital searches and online activity suggesting concerns about divorce and betrayal, Fox News has reported.

The defense, however, argues that Arielle may have been the initial aggressor.
