New DNA testing has definitively linked serial killer Ted Bundy to the 1974 murder of 17-year-old Laura Ann Aime in Utah.
Authorities say the evidence confirms Bundy’s involvement “without a doubt,” officially closing the case after more than 50 years.
Aime was abducted after leaving a Halloween party, later found murdered along a highway weeks afterward.
Advances in forensic science allowed investigators to reexamine old evidence and make the breakthrough, USA Today has reported.
Officials hope the confirmation brings long-awaited closure to the victim’s family.
