A coyote described as a “repeat offender” was captured and euthanized after attacking a 4-year-old boy in a Southern California driveway.
The child suffered multiple puncture wounds after the animal bit and attempted to drag him, prompting emergency response and medical treatment, including rabies shots.
Authorities believe the same coyote may have been linked to several other recent attacks, based on reports and DNA evidence.
Wildlife officials determined the animal posed a continued threat and followed standard protocol in humanely euthanizing it, Fox News has reported.
Residents have been warned to stay vigilant, supervise children, and take precautions to deter coyotes in the area.
