A 61-year-old man, James Dolphs Elmore Jr., has been indicted and arrested in connection with the deaths of two women linked to the so-called “Texas Killing Fields.”
He faces charges including manslaughter and evidence tampering in the 1984 killing of a 16-year-old girl, as well as tampering charges related to the death of a 30-year-old woman.
The case stems from a renewed investigation into a decades-long series of killings in a Texas area where dozens of female victims have been found since the 1980s.
Authorities say the charges followed coordinated efforts by local law enforcement and the FBI to revisit cold cases in the region, the USA Today has reported.
Officials and investigators have emphasized that the pursuit of justice for the victims and their families remains ongoing.
