Four people were killed when a car fleeing an Alabama state trooper crashed into a tree in Pike County, authorities said.
The vehicle, a 2022 Hyundai Elantra, went off a rural road late Friday night during the pursuit, with no other vehicles involved.
The driver and two passengers were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the car, while the fourth occupant was not thrown from the vehicle.
All four were pronounced dead at the scene, and the incident remains under investigation, CBS News has reported.
Authorities have not released details about what prompted the chase or further circumstances surrounding the crash.
