Man charged with impaired driving after car plows into pedestrians during Louisiana parade

Several people were injured, some seriously, after a car crashed into a Lao New Year parade in Broussard, Louisiana, on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities identified the driver as Todd Landry, who has been charged with driving while impaired and multiple counts of negligent injuring.

Officials said he showed signs of impairment, and a breath test indicated his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit.

At least 13 people were hospitalized, including two who were airlifted, and the crash is not believed to have been intentional, ABC News has reported.

Organizers canceled the rest of the festival and redirected security resources while expressing concern and prayers for the victims and their families.
