Jared Isaacman said that the possibility of alien life is an important consideration in NASA’s mission planning, as the agency works to explore fundamental questions about the universe.
He emphasized that NASA’s goals include searching for signs of life beyond Earth, citing the vast number of galaxies and star systems as reasons to believe such discoveries are possible, even though he has not encountered any evidence of aliens.
Isaacman pointed to future projects like a potential lunar base and telescopes on the Moon that could aid in this search.
His comments came during NASA’s ongoing Artemis II mission, which is conducting a lunar flyby and collecting data for future deep-space missions, The Guardian has reported.
He also noted that the mission is focused on testing spacecraft systems, preparing for communication blackouts, and gathering performance data to support upcoming Artemis missions.
