The U.S. Secret Service is investigating reports of overnight gunfire near Lafayette Park, located across from the White House.

No injuries were reported, and no suspect was found after authorities searched the area shortly after midnight.

The incident occurred while Donald Trump was staying at the White House, though operations continued as normal.

Security in the area was increased following the reports, according to officials, The Guardian has reported.
