Zelensky, Sharaa meet to discuss security cooperation in light of Iran war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Syria to meet with Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa as part of broader Middle East diplomacy efforts.

The talks focused on expanding cooperation, including sharing Ukraine’s military experience in countering drones and missiles developed during its war with Russia.

Zelensky also promoted Ukraine’s role as a major grain exporter, offering support to improve food security in the region.

He said both sides expressed interest in exchanging security knowledge and strengthening economic and defense ties, The Jerusalem Post has reported.

The visit followed other regional stops, including Turkey, where additional agreements on security and energy cooperation were discussed.
