Employee accused of arson after paper goods warehouse destroyed in massive fire

A warehouse employee was arrested on suspicion of arson after a massive fire destroyed the Kimberly-Clark Distribution Center in Ontario, California, early Tuesday morning.

The blaze began shortly after 12:30 a.m. and required a large response from about 175 firefighters, burning for hours and spreading throughout the 1.2 million-square-foot facility.

Investigators quickly deemed the fire suspicious, and the suspect, identified as a warehouse worker, was located and taken into custody.

The fire damaged trucks and destroyed large amounts of paper products, though nearby businesses were protected and no injuries were reported, ABC 7 Los Angeles has reported.

Officials say the motive remains unknown, and the suspect is being held on multiple felony arson charges without bail.
