Parents charged after toddler injured by wolf at Hersheypark’s ZooAmerica

Two parents in Pennsylvania, Carrie Sortor and Stephen Wilson, are facing charges after their toddler was injured at Hersheypark’s ZooAmerica.

Authorities say the 17-month-old slipped through a fence and reached into a wolf enclosure, where the animal grabbed the child’s hand.

Investigators reported the parents were about 25 to 30 feet away and appeared to be distracted at the time.

Bystanders helped pull the child to safety, and the injuries were described as minor, ABC 7 Eyewitness News has reported.

The parents have each been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
