Trump says Iran ceasefire proposal ‘significant’ but ‘not good enough’

Donald Trump said a proposed U.S.-Iran ceasefire deal is “not good enough” but acknowledged it is a significant step in ongoing negotiations.

He warned that if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz by his deadline, the United States could carry out major strikes on Iranian infrastructure.

Trump said military plans are in place targeting energy facilities and transportation links if no agreement is reached.

Iran, however, has rejected a temporary ceasefire and instead proposed measures for safe passage through the strait and sanctions relief, CNBC has reported.

The situation remains tense as both sides continue discussions ahead of the deadline.
