Army vet charged with leaking classified Delta Force secrets to journalist

A U.S. Army Special Operations Command veteran, Courtney Williams, has been federally charged with transmitting classified defense information to a journalist.

Prosecutors allege she shared sensitive materials, including tactics and procedures, through extensive communications and document exchanges between 2022 and 2024.

Williams had signed nondisclosure agreements during and after her service, and investigators say she labeled files intended for a reporter.

The journalist involved, Seth Harp, has denied wrongdoing and described the case as retaliation, while also highlighting allegations of discrimination within the unit, WRAL News has reported.

The FBI and Justice Department emphasized the seriousness of leaking classified information, and Williams could face significant legal consequences if convicted.
