Dozens of Democrats call for Trump’s removal after his Iran threats

Dozens of congressional Democrats have called for the removal of Donald Trump from office after he used rhetoric threatening Iran, prompting calls for impeachment or invoking the 25th Amendment.

Lawmakers including Ed Markey, Chris Murphy, and Ro Khanna argued that Donald Trump is unfit to serve and should be removed through constitutional processes.

Their reactions followed Donald Trump’s statement warning that “a whole civilization” could be wiped out if Iran did not meet his demands, which many critics described as dangerous and potentially unlawful.

Some lawmakers and international voices, including the United Nations, emphasized that military actions must comply with the Geneva Conventions and laws of war, NBC News has reported.

Despite Donald Trump later announcing a temporary ceasefire, several Democrats, including Seth Moulton, maintained their calls for impeachment and his removal from office.
