Machete-wielding maniac stabs 3 elderly straphangers at Grand Central Terminal

A man identified as Anthony Griffin attacked three elderly people with a machete at Grand Central Terminal on Saturday morning while reportedly calling himself “Lucifer.”

Two NYPD officers confronted him on the subway platform and repeatedly ordered him to drop the weapon before he advanced toward them.

The officers shot Griffin, who later died at the hospital, while the three victims were taken for treatment in stable condition.

Police said Griffin had a prior arrest history and that the officers are under internal review as body camera footage is expected to be released, the New York Post has reported.

The incident caused panic in the station, with witnesses describing chaos, evacuations, and fear among commuters.
