8 people shot, 3 fatally, in Kansas City parking lot

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, a shooting incident occurred on Sunday morning in a parking lot in Kansas City, Missouri, resulting in the death of at least three individuals and injuring five others.

Jackson County Sheriff Darryl Forte tweeted on Sunday morning that the violence unfolded around 4:30 a.m. in the southeastern area of downtown Kansas City.

Upon receiving a report of gunfire, law enforcement officers responded to the scene, ABC News reports.

They discovered three victims, identified as two men and a woman, who had tragically lost their lives in the parking lot and on a nearby street, just south of the intersection of 57th Street and Prospect Avenue.

No immediate arrests have been made, and an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the incident.
