In a courtroom appearance, the defendant accused of the tragic shooting incident at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado last year, which claimed the lives of five individuals and left 19 others injured, has pleaded guilty to five counts of first-degree murder.
As part of a negotiated agreement with the prosecutors, the defendant, Anderson Lee Aldrich, 23, has accepted five consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, CNN reported.
Additionally, on Monday morning, Aldrich also pleaded guilty to 46 counts of attempted first-degree murder, each carrying a sentence of 48 years to be served consecutively.
Furthermore, he entered a no-contest plea for the bias-motivated crimes associated with the November 19 massacre at Club Q in Colorado Springs.
