Democratic National Committee paid lawyers who represented Biden in special counsel probe

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has made payments to law firms that represented President Joe Biden in the special counsel probe regarding his handling of classified documents, as per federal records.

The DNC paid approximately $1.05 million to Bob Bauer’s professional limited liability company since July, with Bauer serving as Biden’s personal attorney in the probe led by special counsel Robert Hur.

Additionally, the DNC paid nearly $905,000 to the firm Hemenway & Barnes, whose attorney Jennifer Miller was identified as Biden’s “personal counsel” in Hur’s report.

While the DNC’s expenditures on legal representation for Biden have been noted, they do not match the substantial sums directed by Donald Trump’s political operation to cover his legal fees.

A DNC spokesperson emphasized the party’s distinction, highlighting that they do not utilize grassroots donors’ money for legal expenses, contrasting with Trump’s fundraising tactics, CNN reported.

Bauer and Miller, along with their respective firms, did not provide immediate responses to inquiries.

Despite criticism from the Biden campaign regarding Trump’s use of donor funds for legal fees, Trump continues to portray his legal challenges as politically motivated and solicits financial support from his supporters.
