More than 70 robot teams gear up for China’s second humanoid half-marathon

More than 100 humanoid robots will compete in China’s upcoming half-marathon designed to test their performance in real-world conditions.

In a recent trial run in Beijing, over 70 teams tested their machines on a 21-kilometre course ahead of the official race on April 19.

Around 40% of teams are using fully autonomous navigation, making the challenge significantly harder.

Many robots struggled with issues like overheating and battery drain, with some teams focused more on finishing than winning, Euro News has reported.

Participation has surged this year, with nearly five times more teams competing than in the inaugural event.
