A wildfire near Ross in Palo Pinto County, Texas, has burned at least 90,400 acres and is about 76% contained.

The Ross Fire has destroyed 157 structures and damaged another 140, including homes, while forcing temporary evacuations in neighboring Jack County.

The National Weather Service says the blaze is now the second-largest wildfire recorded in North Texas.

The fire began on Aug. 24 and quickly spread from an estimated 25 acres to tens of thousands of acres across Palo Pinto and Jack counties, CBS News has reported.

Several buildings at Worth Ranch were also destroyed, but no scouts, campers or guests were at the property when the fire arrived.
