Rep. Ilhan Omar’s D.C. home searched by Homeland Security investigators

Federal investigators raided the Washington, D.C., home of Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar early Monday as part of an ongoing criminal investigation reportedly examining immigration paperwork completed by her late father during her childhood.

The Department of Justice confirmed that Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant, with investigators reportedly examining potential allegations of false statements and immigration fraud.

Omar denied wrongdoing and condemned the raid as an abuse of power, accusing the Trump administration of using federal law enforcement to target political opponents.

House Democratic leaders also criticized the raid, calling it deeply disturbing and raising concerns about the potential politicization of federal investigations, CBS News has reported.

President Donald Trump denied involvement in the search, saying the matter was up to the Justice Department, while the investigation remains ongoing and no findings of wrongdoing have been announced.
