Authorities in rural Texas discovered two deceased individuals as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of two mothers from Kansas, who went missing in Oklahoma.
The bodies will undergo examination by the Oklahoma Chief Medical Examiner to determine identity and cause of death.
The missing women, Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, from Hugoton, Kansas, were last seen on March 30, driving in Oklahoma to pick up Butler’s children for a birthday celebration in Kansas.
Their abandoned vehicle was later found in rural Oklahoma near the Kansas border, ABC News has reported.
Four individuals have been arrested and charged with various offenses including first-degree murder and kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of Butler and Kelley.
These individuals, Tad Bert Cullum, 43; Tifany Machel Adams, 54; Cole Earl Twombly, 50; and Cora Twombly, 44, remained in custody as of Sunday night.
Legal representation for the accused was not immediately available.
