Diddy has addressed the videotaped beating of Cassie, taking full responsibility for his actions and revealing that he has gone to rehab.
In a video posted Sunday morning, he reflects on his darkest times, acknowledging he hit rock bottom during the brutal March 2016 assault on Cassie at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
Surveillance footage showed him chasing her, grabbing her by the neck, throwing her to the ground, kicking, and dragging her.
Diddy claims he sought professional help afterward, undergoing therapy and rehab, and asking for divine mercy and grace.
In the video, he apologized, expressing his commitment to becoming a better man, but did not directly apologize to Cassie, making it seem like an apology to the public rather than to her, TMZ reported.
Diddy and Cassie continued their on-and-off relationship for two years after the incident, and likely discussed the matter privately.
They even attended a Hollywood premiere together shortly after the assault. Cassie detailed the attack in a sexual assault lawsuit filed in November, which was settled a day later.
Diddy’s attorney stated that the settlement was not an admission of guilt, and Diddy has denied all allegations in the various lawsuits against him.
