Man pleads guilty to federal charges in attack on Louisville mayoral candidate

Quintez Brown, who shot at Louisville mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg in early 2022, pleaded guilty to federal charges of interfering with a federally protected activity and discharging a firearm during a violent crime.

Brown, who initially pleaded not guilty, admitted to firing the weapon because Greenberg was running for mayor.

Federal prosecutors have recommended a 15- to 18-year sentence, with sentencing set for October 21.

Brown faced a maximum life sentence, the Associated Press has reported.

Greenberg, who was not injured, accepted the plea agreement, expressing relief that the case would not go to trial.
