A gunman entered a private home for the elderly in Daruvar, Croatia, and opened fire, resulting in six deaths and six injuries, according to Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT).
Five of the deceased were residents, and one was an employee.
The gunman, a former military police member with a previously unregistered firearm, was later arrested near a café.
Prime Minister Andrej Plenković expressed condolences and urged a thorough investigation, CNN has reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Davor Božinović and other officials are traveling to Daruvar.
