Country music star Garth Brooks has publicly named his accuser, identified as Jane Roe, in a recent lawsuit alleging rape.
Brooks’ legal team claims he is the victim of a “shakedown,” stating that the woman disregarded a judge’s authority in a related case.
In response, Roe’s attorneys plan to seek maximum sanctions against Brooks, accusing him of publicly naming a rape victim out of spite.
The lawsuit originated when a man, initially referred to as John Doe, claimed Roe demanded millions in exchange for not pursuing false allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
Roe has since filed her own lawsuit in California, alleging Brooks raped her in 2019 and engaged in inappropriate behavior towards her, NBC News has reported.
Brooks is now seeking damages and a jury trial while requesting an injunction against Roe’s actions, asserting his innocence and commitment to the legal process.
