Israeli defense minister warns an attack on Iran would be ‘lethal’ and ‘surprising’

Israel’s defense minister warned of a “lethal” and “surprising” retaliation against Iran following its recent missile attack, while Israeli forces continue operations in northern Gaza and Lebanon against Hezbollah militants.

Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Biden discussed Israel’s response, with Biden opposing strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a rocket attack that killed two people in northern Israel, the Associated Press has reported.

Israel’s ongoing conflict follows Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack and Iran’s missile barrage on Oct. 1, which the U.S. helped defend against.
